Tennis and Basketball
The Community School Courts are available to
visitors during the summer for tennis and basketball.
Hang Gliding
Millstreet is one of the popular centres for hang
gliding enthusiasts in the South.  Clara Mountain and
the surrounding hills provide the meeting points for
many clubs.  Easter weekend usually sees the
commencement of the season for gliders in Millstreet.
Mountain Walks
Clara Mountain, rising at 1000ft above the town,
1400ft above sea level) provides a spectacular view.
On a clear day the lakes of Killarney can be seen.
Clara is just one of many hills within easy reach of
Millstreet which are ideal for mountain walking.
Lakes
Coomeenatrush is just one of a number of small
lakes located in the area and is one of the most
accessible.  A ten minute drive south of the town
centre followed by a further ten minutes on foot will
bring visitors to the base of the waterfall and lake.
The waterfall can be spectacular following a period
of heavy rain.  For the more energetic, lakes
Gortavehy and Murtagh can be visited by travelling
overland off the road leading to Cahirbarnagh, west
of Millstreet.  Kippagh lake is also accessible in the
same manner following a drive from the ruins of
Kilmeedy Castle.  The Castle is just of the main road
leading to Macroom 2.5miles from the town centre.
